Fact a Day 2022 3 months, 3 weeks ago Factoid for 12/2: I’d never heard of virga until my Dad who is a pilot and had studied the sky and clouds, explained it to me and Mom. Virga is a weather phenomenon that occurs when precipitation falls from a cloud but evaporates before reaching the ground. Virga can occur from different types of clouds. This can make it hard to identify. Virga creates wispy streaks that drop down from clouds. It’s often confused with wispy clouds of precipitation that are actually reaching the ground. There are several different types of clouds in which virga can appear.

UPDATE! Expect additional delays…. my mom has just been admitted into hospice care (a huge relief). Although she’s not in any discomfort or pain, she is refusing to eat and is now under 100 lbs. and sleeps nearly all the time. Hospice ensures her comfort. She’s 95 yrs. old, so I know she’s ready and just wants to go. I say the prayer for a happy death for her.
