One night during camp you are on your own for dinner, and you may choose to have a socially-distanced meal in town. There are some great spots with outdoor dining. But they roll up the sidewalks early here, so don’t dilly dally.

Can you really say you’ve been here if you haven’t had a taste of pony tracks ice cream?

In addition to dinner spots, you can buy ice cream treats at several places on Maddox Blvd: Island Creamery, Mister Whippy and BYOC. Island Creamery offers an artisanal array of flavors, and their waffle cones are fresh-baked. Mister Whippy is where you want to go for soft-serve and milkshakes. Build Your Own Cookie is a food truck that serves warm homemade cookies topped with your choice of 15-flavors of ice cream and other toppings.

Maddox Blvd is also home to a bunch of other food trucks, and most have socially-distanced outside seating available. DO NOT forget to wear your masks!

The Town of Chincoteague provides a seasonal trolley system open to the public. The trolley has 24 stops throughout the island. This service costs only 25 cents and runs every day from 5 pm to 10:30 pm. On the camp bulletin board, there’s a brochure for the trolley service.
