Teddy, thank you for updating. I guess we have all been sending cards to a few people who aren’t there anymore.-
Maybe they have not updated their list for awhile. Mom grew up in Mentor and her brother still lives there. As far as she knows there is nothing going on with the Lake County Board of DD. Mom asked her brother and he said that he had not heard anything about it.-
Well, the cards we send are not returned, so the peeps must still be there. Maybe they are just not taking new peeps!

I don’t think it’s intentional. It’s sad to see the peeps drop off the list!

We had not heard about this downsizing,they are doing it in a quiet way. I wonder if the people have found other places to go (with relatives) and they are not taking in any new people. Deepwood is not really just a school it is the Lake County Board of DD. They have many programs.

Service Projects 1 year, 1 month agoGrandma worked in cards today for Aunt Gracie and me while it was snowing outside today. She did February, March, April, & May cards. She will mail them when travel is safe to go to the post office.

UPDATE! Expect additional delays…. my mom has just been admitted into hospice care (a huge relief). Although she’s not in any discomfort or pain, she is refusing to eat and is now under 100 lbs. and sleeps nearly all the time. Hospice ensures her comfort. She’s 95 yrs. old, so I know she’s ready and just wants to go. I say the prayer for a happy death for her.
