Should we decide on The Crime that Binds by Laurie Cass as the book for July?
-
I’m fine with that one if everybody else is.
-
I am not sure anyone else is still here, I guess we will go with the Crime That Binds by Laurie Cass for our July book.
-
Mom is getting her cataract surgeries in July but she will read the book ahead of time. We love the bookmobile books.
-
-
-
Sounds good!
-
Thank you for your prayers, Aetheling.
-
My comment disappeared! You even replied to my comment about keeping your mom in my prayers for an easy quick Successful surgery, but now my comment is gone 😯

Should we decide on a July book?
The next one in the bookmobile series is
The Crime That Binds
2022, it’s her latest book in that series.
And the next one in the cat who books is
The Cat Who Knew a Cardinal
Anyone have other ideas for the July book? -

Any more thoughts on this book?
-
I liked the ending sentences. Koko jumped on the bed and flopped down in an attitude of exhaustion. It had been a strenuous night. He had saved an estimated 200 persons. 😄
-
Mom usually reads a book and puts it down for a little while. She did not do that with this book. she read it cover to cover in a short time.
-
Wow, it must’ve intrigued her. It was a very good book.
Mom usually has several books going, she reads a little out of each book. Mol.-
Mom has started doing that recently.

I am glad that Qwill decided to go back to Pickax. What happened to the Casablanca was sad. The powerful people in Junktown were not going to let the Casablanca stay. They used any means necessary.

Mom said that she would get freaked out living in an apartment where someone was murdered. Especially since there was still a huge bloodstain. Of course Koko found the stain.
-
Can’t blame your Mom…mine would feel the same way.
-
Yes, that was creepy that the bloodstain was still there
-
I would be freaked out too.
-
I wouldn’t want to live where someone was murdered/ there was a house on the river not to far from ours that had a terrible murder, It was a multi million dollar home and it was finally torn down because no one would buy it even at a reduced price, they finally built another home there;
-
Wow. I can understand how that would happen. I know there’s been a couple houses in Cleveland torn down because of the famous crimes there. 😕
-
Yes there were.
-
-
-
My mom’s sister lived in an apartment where someone was murdered. It was cleaned and recarpeted. Mom says she couldn’t do it!
-
I don’t blame her.
-
Yes, that would be a little freaky, Cooper.

Waterbeds are usually heated so Yum Yum probably enjoyed the warmth of the waterbed. My sister’s cat Barney loved hers.
-
Mom has a waterbed but it’s tubes and not heated. It would probably be too hot here in Florida.
-
Oh wow, Barney had her own waterbed. I hadn’t even known they had those for cats
-
They don’t. It was a full size human waterbed. Barney was a boy cat along with his brother Fred.
-
Oh! Mol! I thought by “loved HERS” you meant that Barney was a girl and had her own cat water bed. Mol. Now I see you were referring to your sister’s water bed.
-
-
-
That sounds really nice.

I did not think that the Casablanca sounded like a very nice place. I did not quite understand the charm.
-
I did feel sorry for the people who lived there. I think that many of them lived there because they did not have anywhere else to live.
-
When it was first built, it was quite opulent for it’s time. Without constant upkeep it became seedy and needed maintenance
-
The ending was sad when we didn’t know how many tenants survived.
It had been a really beautiful hotel once. It was a shame it was so run down, too much to be restored. And a Shame about all those tenants losing their apartments.-
Yes it was sad and Qwill was lucky to get out alive.

So before we start, is everyone able to get Death of Downton Tabby? It is not available in the libraries in this area.
-
nope
-
So far Bunty, Aetheling and I are not going to be able to read it. I wonder if we shoud change it. Mango suggested it, I wish she were here.
-
we should probably change it it We can ask Mango
-
I can’t get it either and Mom won’t pay $29 for the paperback.
-
-
-
We were able to get the print version from amazon
-
Do they only have the paperback version? Mom can’t read paperbacks, darn cataracts. She will be glad when she gets them out.
-
That may be the only way I can get it. Not at the library. May have to try a bookstore.
-
Did you pay $29.20 for it? That was the only one that came up for me on Amazon.
-
No we got it as a used book on anazon
-
I think that had used paperbacks that were pretty inexpensive.
-
-
-
No, But I will come next month and listen to everybody else’s opinions on it. 😃
-
My library doesn’t have it.
