Well, it looks like it could be. Really soggy weekend! And not just here, but for many of us. So my advice is be a Couch Cat for the weekend!! But don’t forget the frequent zoomies!! We must keep in shape!! We are all ok here. But Mom can sure tell there is rain on the horizon, her sinooSes woke her up this morning….her post nasal drip has turned from a drip to a Niagara Falls kind of thing! I sure Tubby\’s allergies are that bad right now. But Mom keeps says that as longs as they don’t get stopped up…she’ll be fine as frog\’s hair, splits forty \”leben\” ways in sandpaper!! Where DOES she get these things??? (Oh, really, Mom!! Okey dokey. She got it from her Grandmother!!)
Stay safe all! Warm and dry!-
Bunty B replied 17 hours, 54 minutes agoIt may be warmer here this weekend but mommy’s sinuses are going crazy too.

Chip, I am unfamiliar with both of those terms, although I do know a bit about frogs!

We\’re okay.
Our Dr. Vet was suspecting Pixel to have a brain tumor but mum had a hunch the seizures were coming from hypertension which was coming from hyperthyroid. Mum started checking Pixel\’s blood pressure at home and it was way high, so they did another test and We just got the call with results – it\’s hyperthyroid! (Yay!) Pixel will start new meds for her thyroid and once her hypertension is under control, we\’ll get things rolling for her Radiocat appointment. We\’re grateful that Dr. Vet listens to humans when they have concerns that may be different from his initial thoughts.
-

Antarctica 2 days, 11 hours ago
Anya and I decided that we would want to be with a scientific team at the North Pole studying the blue whales.
-
Gracie replied 2 days, 11 hours agoAnya and I have been discussing the pros and cons of going to the North Pole or Antarctic. Boy oh boy both places are super duper cold and neither one of us does cold well.
We looked at both destinations and with the North Pole temperatures being an annual -40 Fahrenheit and in the summer it is 32 while Antarctic temperatures plummet to nearly -130 Fahrenheit. In some places at Antarctic winds can reach 200mph making
Antarctic the windiest place in the world. Burrrrr, oh so cold. We are thinking the North Pole might be a better choice. If we would choose to go to Antarctic there are 235 species of seals, whales, penguins, and flying seabirds. We looked at the number of species at the North Pole and found that to be 5,500, so there would be more animals to observe plus we could visit Santa while we are at the pole.
With the weather conditions being much harsher at Antarctic Anya and I decided that we would head to the North Pole. It just seemed a little less hostile than the weather in Antarctic. We knew right away that we would have to have many items with us for our protection against the cold. The list is endless as one needs tents that can withstand the weather, sleeping bags, two mats for the sleeping bags, many clothes so you can layer your clothing, clothing that is water proof, hand warmers, gloves, scarfs, sun screen, sun goggles, and boots just to name a few. Then you need equipment; compass, backpack, cameras that can take the cold and wet, whistle for emergencies, satellite phone, batteries, pan to make igloo if you need to, first aid kit, stove, food provisions, and cat litter just to name a few things.
At first Anya and I discovered that there are 17 different species of whales at the North Pole. The Arctic summer welcomes many species of whales back from lengthy migrations, including the gray, blue, fin, and minke whales, but a fascinating trio—the bowhead, beluga, and narwhal—make their home in the Arctic and subarctic year round. We decided that we would like to join a team of scientific researchers and track the patterns of migrations of the blue whale, blue whales are thought to be among the most endangered of the great whales. We would be out on boats looking for whales that have been tagged from previous years and chart where their location is now found. If we found a whale that was not tagged we would be part of the team to help tag the whale, log in the location and tag number so future sightings would let us and other researchers know which whale we were seeing and their new location. We still have a lot to learn about how large animals navigate in the ocean, how they find a good habitat and how they are affected by human activities and environmental changes. Understanding how blue whales make movement decisions give scientists insight into how they may, or may not, be able to cope with changing ocean conditions in the future. We would like to be part of this team of researchers.
