Good morning! Other than have a temp of 24F right now, all is well!!
Mom started a new painting a couple of days ago. She gessoed the canvas to prepare it. Using white gesso. Then she put a areas of grey gesso on places she was planning to make a bit darker. She stared at it for a day. Last night she started to make a rough sketch, using vine charcoal, to get ready to paint. She stared at it again. She thinks she likes it as it is. It’s very “impressionistic” in my feline opinion. She said she might leave it as it is. What do you think? Please be kind. She IS my mom. She tweaked it a bit and then took the second pic. It’s better-
Yeah. The bottom pic is better. Looks creepy and ghostly to me.
-
Looking through a mist…..or a fog maybe!
-
I like both pictures, Chip. I’m just a kitty but mom and I agree with you and Teddy that the snd. one is the better of the two because it looks more complete. What a steady hand and artistic view, Well done.
-
I like the top of the gazebo, especially, in the second one. Really looking forward to seeing its progression.
-
I like it, it has an air of mystery about it. I would leave it as is!
-
She did add something. Three big berds!! She does stuff like that.
-
-
I like both. She is quite talented
-
Love it! Looks like a misty setting for a whodunit. Your mom is one talented lady, Chip!
-
We like it a lot and we agree with Maggie it could be a book cover

In December of 2002, mum and a friend, CT, went to the home of a feral colony caretaker. The caretaker had already TNR\’d most of the colony but there was still a mom with 4 eight week old kittens. CT was looking to add to her family and agreed to adopt and socialize one of those kittens.
.
What CT and mum didn\’t know is that they\’d have to CATCH the feral kit. They\’d had no prior experience with TNR and were generally clueless and slightly, albeit good-naturedly, dimwitted, so on the caretaker\’s back porch they crouched, clutching beach towels. The kittens were under a small end table.
.
One by one, three orange kittens ran towards them, thoroughly evading them both. The last kitten was a very floofy brown tabby. They caught her! She was in the carrier and they were ready to leave when the kitten freaked out. And I mean FREAKED out. Freaked so much that she hit her head on the top of the carried and stunned herself still. Feeling the carrier go from thrashing about in mum’s lap to absolute stillness, Mum and CT panicked and ran back to the caretaker\’s house. The kitten was absolutely fine after her self-administered TKO and TKO was know as Tiki by evening\’s end.
.
Tiki currently lives in Long Beach, CA. Two years ago she had a stroke and had some vision problems. She’s been living with CRF for several years. Last year she was radioactive for days after a treatment for hyperthyroidism. This past weekend, she was rushed to the ER with a blockage in a ureter. She’s showing signs of improvement, but her prognosis is guarded.
.
She’s due to come home today and no one knows how long she’ll be able to be at home, but she’ll get to have at least another cuddle on her favorite couch with her favorite human. So i’m in here having a big purr for Tiki.-
Raz replied 4 hours, 35 minutes agoPurrs and prayers for Tiki.

A quiet night and morning, so far. We are all doing well but Dad is getting the vacuum so we are all on our toes. The weather is back to 40 in the day and 20 at night.
Mysterious Theater: Einie finds a deaded mole in the hall last week. He denies he did it but… when Dad got up it was not there. He gave us breakfast, made coffee, opened the cat flap, had a snack. then, suddenly, it appeared. Who slipped out acting the steps needed for the deed?(hunt, catch, play, release, catch, play, release, catch, dirty deed.) Or, did someone hide the deaded somewhere to throw off authorities? Or did someone’s Trans Time Topography Travel Tunnel misfire? Or?-
Pete H. replied 10 hours, 17 minutes agoIt’s a total MYSTERY! The situation bears further investigation!

What a morning! Breakfast is ready at Rumblers, an some really yummy orange snacks at Orange you glad you’re a ginger!!
Before I got that started, Chessie woke me up really early..she came onto my room and shouted, SHOUTED, into my delicate ears, “MOUSE PATROL!!!” She had smelled a mouse. We patrolled the whole house, thoroughly, several times. If, I repeat, IF there had been a mousie, it left! Chessie crawled back into bed with Dad, while i skittered over here to get breakfast ready.
We are all well, except maybe Chessie, I’m not sure she’s right in the head sometimes! But other than that we are fine!! Snow predicted for last night. Once again, no snow. Stay safe!!-
Pete H. replied 12 hours, 41 minutes agoNo snow is Okay, Snow is too cold! I saw snow once in my life when dad took me to Christmas in Virginia and I didn’t care for it, I walked out to the car with him to get mom’s suitcase and nearly froze my toes. I jumped in the car and dad had to carry me and the suitcase back inside!

Chip replied 12 hours, 11 minutes agoIn the last two hours, we did have some snow! We almost a quarter of an inch!! MOM, WHERE ARE MY SKIS??? It’s already stopped. But I’ll be ready!!

Just dropped in in gratitude to Maggie and Felix\’s mom, MomPat! She has made Seymour very happy!! And Seymour makes her very happy!! We all. Need more Happy in our lives!! ❤️🐾
-
Timmy Tomcat replied 1 day, 11 hours agoI think this is a good example, in a different way, of our most recent discussions in Book Club. Pat had two rather sudden grievous losses of the heart and a need to continue on getting up, having meals, cleaning as needed, caring for home, paying bills, all while carrying this weight.
Seymour too had loss. Not just of the heart. as, by example, he shows he is no stray, no feral, no alley cat, that he has a connection to people. He then also has the loss of the senses that make a cat a cat. That which allows one who has lost the connection of the heart to actually live in the rough world of those without shelter, without food, without touch, without connection, without love.
The finding of these two disparate souls and the connection that was destined has exemplified the transformative power of love.
From the start it was clear Pat had a connection with this fellow. You could feel it shining off photos that had so few words yet much clear content. He also, through the deep and mysterious ability of cats to perceive so much so quickly, of place, of person, of heart, settled into what he knew was safe, what he knew was home, what he knew was love.
We feel that the spirits of Felix and Maggie were there softly guiding these two together and will also be there in the love that has been found, that has transformed both to something more.-
Felix and Maggie replied 1 day, 6 hours agoTimmy and Einie, that is the most beautiful tribute to the power of love and healing that we’ve ever read! Mom thanks you from the bottom of her heart!

Very happy day here! Not only did Maggie and I enjoy seeing our pals at Golden Paws, but Seymour is now officially a Sullivan! Mom adopted him this morning after he got microchipped and said goodbye to his pals at Animal Control.
He had a big long dream this afternoon – first one since mom’s had him. Legs and nose twitching, lots of sounds, and we think he was saying goodbye to his former life! Somehow, mom can’t copy the video from her phone camera to here, but somebody might know how to do it. Here’s a still of him sunbathing earlier.-
